On June 19th, 2020, CCI Toronto hosted a webinar entitled “Dollars & Sense: Condo Budgeting”.

Speakers Katherine Gow of Crossbridge Condominium Services Ltd. and Christina Ajith of Adams & Miles LLP, CPAs joined moderator Mario Deo of Fine & Deo Condominium Lawyers, to guide attendees through the Condominium budgeting process. During this session, they reviewed the types of budgets managed by Condominiums, timelines to prepare them, budget elements to be included, and how to plan for future expenses for utilities and maintenance. They also covered legal obligations, implementing increases, communication with owners, and how to address common budgeting pitfalls.

Attendees provided positive feedback, with some noting the session was “A well-run webinar with the moderator and speakers supporting each other”; they appreciated the constructive information presented, such as the “reminder to work on the budget all year - and start to prepare next year's budget in month 8” and “all the hints & tips supporting what needs to be done and consequences if you do / do not do them”.
